ABOUT Lorann

Lorann Schindler is a makeup artist based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas with availability and willingness to travel for work. Crediting Barbie as her first makeup inspiration, she would get her hands into anything she could find growing up to try to recreate Barbie’s many looks. At the age of eleven Lorann began to work with her local high school’s theatre department doing hair and makeup. By the time she was fourteen she had booked her first clients for homecoming and prom, and now more than two decades later she has not stopped. Lorann knew early on that makeup would play a part in her life, so she continued working with it throughout college.

Lorann is a creative who works in all mediums of art with makeup being her focus. She studied photography and the basics of art and design principles at the University of North Texas before transferring to Tarleton State University. It was there that she obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts concentrated on 2d media such as painting, as well as a minor in English. Lorann feels her extensive study of art has given her an edge in the world of makeup artistry. She is highly educated in color theory, color mixing, light theory, design principles, understanding composition, and more. This makes her more apt to taking art direction and being able to see the full picture of any project. Lorann’s inherent artistic nature helps her to take on any makeup related job from clean camera ready looks for print and film to talking heads on live television and more.

Upon her college graduation, Lorann attended the Terri Tomlinson Makeup Training Academy to continue learning, and hone in on her craft even more. Lorann has been freelancing now since 2011 while constantly continuing her makeup education. She prides herself on her sanitation practices during a makeup application. Lorann has worked on many photoshoots (fashion and commercial print), runway shows where she has also served as key artist, TV/commercial sets, livestreams and more. Lorann worked at KTXD-TV (London Broadcasting) as a makeup artist for Texas Living/D Living, The Texas Daily, and D: The Broadcast. She served six years as makeup artist on staff with Toni & Guy’s European sister company; essensuals London. Lorann is currently an employee of ESPN where she provides hair and makeup for NBA on ABC and NBA on ESPN. Other clientele has included Fox Sports South West, NBC Sports/NASCAR, Aaron Carter, Macy’s, Harvard Business School for AT&T University, Kia Latino, Southwest Airlines, La Madeleine, Samsung, Pepsi Local Eats, Extended Stay America, Doris Burke with ESPN, etc.
